We're excited to announce new enhancements to SpreadsheetWeb in July 2025, focused on simplifying your workflows and enhancing integration with Excel's powerful features.
Simplified Database Usage
We have introduced a simplified database feature designed to make your application setup quicker and easier! By default, new applications created in SpreadsheetWeb now have access to simplified databases, enabling you to easily save user input without the hassle of configuring complex database tables, relationships, or schemas. Simply add a save button, and SpreadsheetWeb will automatically package your data in a convenient JSON format, capturing data seamlessly from any controls within your user interface.
While simplified databases cover most typical use cases, we recognize some scenarios still require detailed and complex database setups. For those advanced use cases, comprehensive database configuration options remain available on paid accounts. Additionally, existing applications utilizing complex database setups will retain full access to those functionalities.
Enhanced PowerQuery Integration – CurrentWorkbook Expressions
We're thrilled to announce enhanced PowerQuery integration supporting CurrentWorkbook expressions! This new feature enables you to dynamically link and pass references directly from your workbook into your PowerQuery operations. Users can now select different options within the application interface, triggering queries to fetch only the relevant data from the data source. By enabling queries to dynamically respond to user-driven inputs and workbook data, this significantly reduces the overall data payload, making your applications more efficient and responsive.
With this update, SpreadsheetWeb further bridges the gap between Excel and web applications, allowing your queries to become more responsive and adaptive to user-driven inputs and workbook data.
Stay tuned as we continue to innovate and streamline your SpreadsheetWeb experience!
We hope you enjoy these new features and improvements. Check out our “Build Notes” for a complete list of updates. As always, we encourage your feedback and suggestions, which continually help us enhance SpreadsheetWeb and better meet your needs.
