What's New in SpreadsheetWeb - July 2026

The July 2026 release brings new Google Sheets integration, stronger account security, and an easier way to share saved application records through email. These updates make it simpler to bring spreadsheet models into SpreadsheetWeb, protect user accounts, and guide recipients directly to the information they need.

Build Applications Directly from Google Sheets

SpreadsheetWeb can now connect to your Google account and pull Google Sheets directly into the platform.

Previously, working with a Google Sheets model required downloading it as an Excel file before uploading it to SpreadsheetWeb. With the new Google account connection, you can select a spreadsheet from Google Drive and bring it directly into SpreadsheetWeb to design and publish as a web application.

Once imported, the spreadsheet can be used with SpreadsheetWeb's application design tools, allowing you to create forms, calculators, data collection applications, approval workflows, and other web-based solutions powered by your existing spreadsheet logic.

The connection also makes ongoing maintenance easier. When the source spreadsheet changes, you can pull the updated Google Sheets file into SpreadsheetWeb without repeating the download and upload process. This creates a more direct workflow for teams that use Google Sheets to develop and maintain their spreadsheet models while relying on SpreadsheetWeb to deliver secure, structured web applications.

More Secure and Flexible Sign-In Options

This release introduces passkey sign-in and SMS multi-factor authentication, along with refreshed account security and recovery experiences.

Passkeys provide a faster and more secure alternative to traditional passwords. Depending on the device, users can sign in with a fingerprint, facial recognition, device PIN, or another authentication method already configured on their computer or mobile device. Because passkeys are tied to the user's device and are resistant to phishing, they help reduce many of the risks associated with passwords.

SMS multi-factor authentication adds another verification option for users who want an additional layer of account protection. When enabled, users confirm their identity with a one-time code sent to their mobile phone during sign-in.

Account security and recovery screens have also been refreshed to make security settings easier to understand and manage. Together, these improvements give users more flexibility in how they protect and access their SpreadsheetWeb accounts while providing a clearer recovery experience when help is needed.

Share Saved Records Directly from Email Processes

Email processes can now generate and insert a share link for the current saved record using SpreadsheetWeb's Public Record feature.

This makes it easier to create emails that direct recipients back to the exact record associated with the message. The recipient does not need a SpreadsheetWeb account to open the link. Instead of asking someone to sign in, navigate through the application, and locate the relevant entry, the email can include a link that opens the shared record directly.

The link provides access only to the specific record associated with it, rather than the application's other saved data. This makes it possible to share the record created through the application with an external recipient while keeping other records unavailable to that person.

For example, an approval email can take a manager straight to the request that needs review. A quote notification can link a salesperson or customer to the corresponding quote. A support or case-management application can direct a team member to the exact case referenced in the email.

Because the public link is generated as part of the email process, it can be included alongside other dynamic record information in automated messages. This creates a smoother connection between email notifications and application workflows, helping recipients reach the right data with fewer steps and without requiring a SpreadsheetWeb account.
