As we kick off 2026, we’re excited to share the latest updates in the January 2026 SpreadsheetWeb release. This release introduces an important change to our release versioning scheme, major improvements to automated app creation, and several usability enhancements across the platform.

New Release Versioning Scheme

Starting in January 2026, we are updating how SpreadsheetWeb releases are numbered.

Going forward, releases will follow the format:

Year.Month.ReleaseNumber

For example:

  • 26.1.0 → January 2026 release

  • 26.2.0 → February 2026 release

This new scheme makes it easier to immediately identify when a release was published and aligns our versioning more closely with common industry standards. You’ll see this format consistently across build notes, documentation, and support references moving forward.

Smarter Automated App Creation

One of the most significant improvements in this release is an upgrade to our Automated App Creation tool. We’ve completely rewritten the layout detection algorithm used during app generation. The new algorithm produces control layouts that more closely match the original structure and spacing of your Excel worksheets. As a result:

  • Generated apps now reflect Excel layouts more accurately

  • Fewer manual layout adjustments are required

  • Users can achieve a desirable UI without needing to open the Designer in many cases

This improvement significantly reduces the time between uploading an Excel file and having a production-ready web application.

Simplified Control Properties

To further improve usability, we’ve simplified how control properties are presented in the Designer. Control settings are now organized into logical property groups, making them easier to scan, understand, and configure. This update helps users:

  • Navigate control settings more efficiently

  • Reduce configuration errors

  • Spend less time searching for commonly used options

The goal is to make control configuration more intuitive, especially for users working with complex applications.

Additional Enhancements and Minor Improvements

The January 2026 release also includes a number of smaller enhancements and quality-of-life improvements across the platform, including:

  • Auto-save support in the Pages module, helping prevent accidental data loss

  • Performance optimizations and stability improvements

  • Various UI refinements and bug fixes

These incremental updates continue our focus on improving reliability and day-to-day usability.
