We’re excited to share the latest improvements in the February 2026 SpreadsheetWeb Hub release (26.2.0). Building on the new release versioning format introduced in January, this update brings a major runtime upgrade, stronger validation for Excel-driven apps, and a solid round of polish across automated app creation and visualization.
Platform upgrade: .NET 10
This release updates the Hub platform to .NET 10, unlocking newer runtime capabilities and performance improvements. The result is a more modern foundation that helps applications run efficiently today and supports future enhancements.
Excel data validation enforcement
SpreadsheetWeb Hub now enforces Excel data validation rules more strictly—so when a value is invalid (per the workbook’s rules), it can’t be saved in the app. This helps protect data integrity, reduces avoidable errors, and keeps app inputs aligned with the Excel model.
Automated App Creation (AAC) improvements
This release includes several upgrades to AAC intelligence and usability:
-
Smarter detection for charts, labels, and overall layout generation—helping generated apps better match workbook intent.
-
UI improvements for overlapping ranges, long names/tooltips, and clearer warnings when chart datasources need attention.
-
Reliability enhancements around sheet tabs and named range editor behavior, making complex multi-sheet projects smoother to configure and maintain.
Data visualization updates (charts, maps, and gauges)
We also shipped a set of improvements focused on polishing visualization components and simplifying configuration:
-
Charts and maps received refinements including property updates, improved handling of minified property behavior, and better legend ordering for more consistent output.
-
Maps now keep label options consistent and use icons instead of dropdown variables, streamlining configuration.
-
Gauges and view options were simplified, including updates to auto-calculated height settings, so dashboards look better with less manual tuning.
