Private Cloud pricing: every plan runs the full capability set
SpreadsheetWeb Private Cloud pricing covers a dedicated, single-tenant instance in the Azure region you choose, managed by us, under your own domain. Every tier includes the five capabilities Hub cannot run. Tiers differ on capacity, not capability.
Private Cloud plans
A SpreadsheetWeb machine of your own, in the Azure data centre you choose, running under your domain with your look and feel. No shared tenancy.
Billed monthly or annually. Looking for the multi-tenant option with a free tier? See Hub pricing. Need to host it yourself? See Server pricing.

What Private Cloud adds over Hub
Solver, Goal Seek, Power Query, DbConnect, and single sign-on all run here and none of them run on Hub. Application access and API calls are unmetered rather than capped, so a public-facing calculator will not hit a session ceiling.
If you are weighing this against Hub, the deciding question is usually whether the model back-solves, optimises, or reaches an external database. Send us the workbook or book a call with presales and we will tell you which one it needs.
What runs where
Every Private Cloud tier gets the same capability set. What changes is how much you can put in it.

- 1 Applies to the uploaded workbook file, not to the data collected by the application.
- 2 Additional named users are billed per user per month at the rate shown on each plan.
- 3 Onboarding includes an assigned project manager, up to two meetings to capture your requirements, up to 10 hours of development to turn your spreadsheet into a working application, and the application deployed to your account for review. The hours must be used within five business days. Complex applications may need more, in which case we quote a fixed price for the whole project up front.
- 4 Scripts runs JavaScript at defined points in the application lifecycle, using hooks that fire on events and actions in the runtime.
- 5 Not available on any Hub public cloud plan. These are the capabilities people move to Private Cloud for.
- 6 Scenario and Monte Carlo analysis run through the Simulation event in the App Designer, rather than as worksheet functions, so a model that relies on them does not need restructuring.
If Private Cloud is not the right fit
Two other licensing models, each priced on its own page.
Hub, public cloud
Multi-tenant, the fastest way to publish, and the only option with a free tier. All 501 Excel functions run here too.
Solver, Goal Seek, Power Query, DbConnect, and single sign-on do not.
Server licence
Install on your own servers, or on a dedicated EC2 or Azure instance you control. Workbooks, submitted data, and calculation all stay inside your perimeter.
The same capability set as Private Cloud, on infrastructure you own. Billed annually.
Which tier fits
Capability is settled the moment you choose Private Cloud. Three questions size it.
How many models are you putting online?
One workbook is one application, however many worksheets it has. Basic covers one, Team five, Professional ten, Enterprise as many as you need.
How many people need to sign in?
Anyone opening an unrestricted application by URL is anonymous and unlimited on every tier. Only people who log in count, and you can add more at the per-user rate on each plan.
Do you want us to build the first one?
Professional and Enterprise include onboarding, which is up to 10 hours of our development time turning your spreadsheet into a working application. Book a call to scope it.
Frequently asked questions
What does Private Cloud include that Hub does not?
Five things: Solver, Goal Seek, Power Query, DbConnect, and single sign-on with Microsoft Entra, Okta, or Auth0. All five are unavailable on every Hub public cloud plan and available on every Private Cloud tier.
Application access and API calls are also unmetered here rather than capped monthly, and the instance is single-tenant, so you choose the Azure region and run under your own domain.
Is there a free tier for Private Cloud?
No. Private Cloud starts at the Basic tier because the instance is dedicated to you and provisioned individually.
The free tier is on Hub, our multi-tenant option, and it is free to use forever within its limits. It is a reasonable way to try the platform before moving up, as long as your model does not need any of the five capabilities above.
Do all tiers support the same Excel functions?
Yes. All 501 functions run on every tier, and the calculation engine is identical across every deployment model we sell.
The full coverage list shows 497 of the 512 functions Microsoft lists by category, plus four that Microsoft does not categorise, and names every exclusion with the reason for it. It is downloadable as a CSV with no form to fill in.
What counts as an application?
Each workbook is one application, however many worksheets it contains.
Uploading a newer version of a workbook to the same application does not count as a new application. It is a new version of an existing one.
What is a named user, and what is an anonymous user?
Named users access applications with a username and password. If an application is set to restricted, everyone who opens it is prompted to log in, and each of those people counts as a named user.
Unrestricted applications can be opened by anyone with the URL. Those visitors are anonymous users, they do not count against your named user total, and they are unlimited on every tier.
What is onboarding?
Onboarding is us migrating your spreadsheet tool to a working web application on the platform, rather than you learning to build it. It is included with Professional and Enterprise.
The package covers an assigned project manager, up to two online or phone meetings to capture your requirements, up to 10 hours of development, and the finished application deployed under your account for review and testing. The hours must be used within five business days, and onboarding requires an active licence.
We will always try to deliver at least one working application. If yours needs more than the included 10 hours, we review the requirements and quote a fixed price for the whole project before starting.
How is SpreadsheetWeb licensed?
Three models:
- Hub, public cloud. We host your application and data on multi-tenant infrastructure. The most cost-efficient option, with a free tier. Monthly or annual billing. See pricing.
- Private Cloud. A dedicated, single-tenant instance in the Azure region of your choice, managed by us, under your own domain. Monthly or annual billing. This page.
- Server licensing. For customers in highly regulated industries. You host the application and data on your own servers and keep complete control. Billed annually. See pricing.
Which Azure region will my instance run in?
Whichever you choose. Private Cloud runs on Microsoft Azure, and the instance can be deployed at any Azure data centre worldwide, which is usually what settles data residency requirements.
Tell us the region when you buy, or raise it on a call if you have a specific compliance constraint to meet.
What happens to my macros?
The workbook uploads and calculates, but VBA does not execute, so it runs as though macros were switched off. The question is only ever what the macros were doing.
Interface macros, meaning showing and hiding sections, navigation, validation, and button behaviour, are usually replaced by configuration in the App Designer rather than rewritten. Calculation macros do need converting: VBA user-defined functions convert to LAMBDA, and iterative routines map onto the built-in Simulation event. The full explanation is here.
How do I change payment details or cancel?
Private Cloud subscriptions are handled by your account representative rather than self-service. To change payment details, or to cancel, contact them or email support@spreadsheetweb.com. Cancellations need 30 days notice before the renewal term.
What happens to my applications if I cancel?
Your account information, web applications, and all other data are removed from our system. This is irreversible, so export anything you need first. Your account representative can help you plan the export before the term ends.
Can I move between tiers or deployment models later?
Yes. Moving between Private Cloud tiers is a subscription change. Moving to a server licence, usually because the data can no longer sit with a hosting provider at all, is a migration we handle with you.
Not sure whether you need Private Cloud?
Send us the workbook and we will tell you whether it needs Solver, Goal Seek, Power Query, or a database connection, and therefore whether Hub would have done. Or book a call and walk through it with our presales team.
