We’re thrilled to kick off the new year with the latest version of SpreadsheetWeb—packed with powerful enhancements designed to make your spreadsheet-based applications more dynamic and intuitive. Read on to discover what’s new in this milestone release:

Crossing the 500th Formula Milestone

One of the biggest highlights of this update is reaching our 500th supported Excel formula. To mark this occasion, we’ve added the PIVOTBY formula—the newest and one of the most complex Excel functions available. This formula ushers in a host of benefits for real-time data aggregation and analysis, setting the stage for more advanced functionality within SpreadsheetWeb.

Dynamic Grid Support Inspired by Excel Pivot Tables

Pivot Tables have long been a go-to feature in Excel for anyone needing robust data aggregation and dynamic presentation capabilities. While Pivot Tables are undeniably powerful, they come with a few notable limitations, including a lack of real-time updates and potential referencing challenges when integrating with other formulas.

To address these issues, Microsoft introduced the PIVOTBY formula as a modern alternative. Riding this wave of innovation, SpreadsheetWeb now incorporates an Output Grid control option that replicates the functionality of Pivot Tables by leveraging PIVOTBY and GROUPBY. With this enhancement, your grid can automatically adjust rows and columns on-the-fly with each formula recalculation—no more manual reconfiguration. Layer on custom stylesheets, and you have all the tools you need to craft sophisticated, real-time reporting dashboards that echo the look and feel of traditional Pivot Tables, but without the familiar Excel constraints.

Redesigned and Modernized Designer Interface

In our ongoing effort to streamline the application-building process, we’ve completely overhauled the Designer user interface. This fresh, modern design not only looks great but also makes navigation and configuration more intuitive. Whether you’re adding data sources, configuring custom formulas, or setting up workflows, the reimagined Designer is built to help you accomplish more in less time.

New SpreadsheetWeb Hub Designer Interface

We’re excited about the doors these new features will open for both new and experienced SpreadsheetWeb users. As always, we value your feedback and can’t wait to see how you leverage the 500th formula and our dynamic grid capabilities in your own applications.
