We’re pleased to announce a series of powerful new enhancements to SpreadsheetWeb this month, all designed to simplify your workflows, improve usability, and strengthen integration with Excel’s advanced features.

New Custom Formula: SpreadsheetWebLookup

We have introduced a brand-new custom formula called SpreadsheetWebLookup, which makes it easier than ever to connect your applications to live data.

  • Similar to Excel’s lookup functions, this formula pulls values from external sources. However, instead of other workbooks, it retrieves data directly from the database of any application within your workspace.
  • It is fully spillable, just like Excel’s modern dynamic array formulas, meaning it can return multiple results automatically without the need for copying formulas across cells.
  • You can reference any named range that is bound to a database, making this an extremely versatile tool for cross-application reporting, dynamic dashboards, and automated calculations.

With SpreadsheetWebLookup, you can seamlessly integrate data from multiple applications into a single application.

Global Input Color Selection

We’ve also added a new feature to make applications more user-friendly, especially those with a large number of inputs and outputs.

With Global Input Color Selection, you can now assign a background color to all input controls across an application. This includes editable cells inside input grids, ensuring no input field goes unnoticed. By visually distinguishing inputs, end users can quickly identify where they need to provide data, reducing errors and improving efficiency.

These features are just part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing SpreadsheetWeb. A full list of improvements, bug fixes, and optimizations can be found on our Build Notes page.

Stay tuned for more enhancements in the coming months as we expand functionality, improve performance, and make it even easier to transform your Excel models into powerful web applications.
